Mayor supports Southern Cape Sports Tours Tournament

The Executive Mayor of George, Aldm Charles Standers supported the Southern Cape Sports Tours Tournament by donating R50 000 towards the event. The event that takes place in George over the Easter holidays brings about 2 400 participants as well as, their coaches, parents, families and friends to George. Only rugby and netball sports codes are played by High Schools in the tournament at Outeniqua Park, Outeniqua High School and PW Botha College. According to Portfolio Councillor for Sport, Cllr Rassie de Villiers, the local economy is going to get a boost of approximately R24 million by hosting this event.
