International Firefighters Day (IFFD) allows the world to recognize and honour the sacrifices that our firefighters make to keep our communities and environment safe.
Memories of the recent devastating fires that marred the Eden District will be forever etched on the collective consciousness of our community. Firefighters dedicate their lives to the protection of life and property. Sometimes that dedication is in the form of countless hours volunteered over many years and at times even their lives.
On Friday, the 4th of May, the world celebrates International Firefighters’ Day where we honour the bravery and commitment of these individuals. Proud Sponsor Oakhurst Insurance, along with the greater George community will recognise the sacrifices that firefighters make to ensure that their communities and environment are as safe as possible.
