International Firefighters’ Day

Activity-filled weekend honours firefighters

Hosting firefighters from across the Western Cape, International Firefighters’ Day was celebrated with a range of activities on Friday and Saturday (4 and 5 May 2018). The event commemorated the deaths of firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty and honoured those who continue to fight the good fight. Festivities was kicked off with a parade through the streets of George on Friday afternoon in which fire trucks from municipalities across the province drove through town.
