George Municipality sponsors Sport Conference

The Executive Mayor of George, Ald Naik yesterday handed a sponsorship cheque to Professor Johnson, Campus Principal for NMMU. George Municipality, Eden Sport Council, The Western Cape Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport and NMMU are jointly hosting the third Provincial Conference on Sport which will be held on 10th and 11th March.

The George Municipality is assisting in terms of financial support of the administration and marketing of the conference.  The conference ties in with the recently completed 2016 Olympic games. It seeks to assess the impact of the Olympics on Sport and Sport development throughout the Western Cape province and the role that the Olympic philosophy, values and principles can contribute to this cause.
