Four years in a row! Clean Audit for George Municipality

A strong vision for George has enabled the achievement of a fourth consecutive Clean Audit Report for the financial year ending 30 June 2015. “This performance shows that we have succeeded in practising, incorporating and institutionalizing the principles and procedures to maintain our fiscal discipline and stability. The municipality is not only staying on track but starting to show leadership in good governance,” said  Executive Mayor Ald. Standers.

CFO for George , Mr Keith Jordaan said that the annual clean audit opinion received not only indicates that George Municipality as an organisation has effective management systems and proper internal controls in place but also has effectively maintained them over the past 4 years.

Councillor Leon Van Wyk, Portfolio Councillor for Financial Services echoed the CFO’s comments and said that the municipality and council are very proud of the achievement of a fourth successive clean audit.

Trevor Botha, Municipal Manager highlighted the commitment of the staff to deliver services of a high quality, as well as their dedication towards good governance and compliance with legislation.
